YouTube |
Has anybody tried YouTube? I do. I tried to upload these short film from this site so that I can view it on YouTube. This download time was slowed down because the server is still low. I might as well upload it on YouTube. This would be a great idea.

Re: YouTube |
I already tried it, and I think it is great. The only limit is 100MB per file and/or 10minute movies. You can embedded them into your webpage or blog. The thing is, they recode your videos... and turn them into a very low bitrate movie... that's the only flaw I saw.

Re: YouTube |
www.dailymotion.com is a much better alternative to youtube or video.google the upload is much quicker and its almost instantly viewable on the websites.. and their code to embed your videos on your blog or site, is much more flawless and seemless than the others.

Re: YouTube |
Google's TOS is similar to this--what are the odds of this biting anyone on the butt? I'm about to post a handful of videos I've shot on every online hosting source I can find. Do you think I'll have controlling things down the road?

Re: YouTube |
Controlling things??
Well what do you mean? I'm always assuming once you post something on the internets that's not copyrighted, or better yet, an amateur production, then get it ready for the ride of it's life.
Like I wonder if my movie, "Albert", since it's on YouTube now, will get the interest of some film festival, who would decide to show it at their festival. I mean, they don't have my permission, but there's nothing really I can do about it, because I posted it there in the first place.

Re: YouTube |
I see--the issue for control is stopping it from being used to make someone money. I wouldn't have a problem with it if it just played at a festival, but if the festival used my video in it's advertising, to get people to pay for tickets, then I'd be annoyed. Still, I'm just happy to have people see my stuff. :) So I guess I can deal with that. Thanks for your input.
